Card Cracking
What to Do If You're Targeted
If you suspect you’re a victim or someone requests your personal information and you’re unsure what to do, you can contact us 24/7 at 1-888-842-6328.
How It Works
Scammers may contact you on social media or by text, or post videos with offers like "legit money fast" or "earn thousands quickly." Whether they’re promising you money “just to run some checks through your account,” a job offer, a gift card giveaway or something else, at some point, they’ll ask for access to your account. Once they have it, they’ll quickly withdraw money by ATM or money orders. Now, they have access to your money and your personal information. Plus, you may be responsible for the losses. Stay alert! Legitimate contests and businesses don’t operate this way.
You Can Protect Your Accounts and Identity
With a little extra caution, you can outsmart the scammers and keep your money and information safe. Be wary of social media advertisements, testimonial posts, even from celebrities, or messages from individuals who promise you money in exchange for your information. Never give your card or provide personal or account information to anyone. These requests are just tricks to get access to your money and steal your identity.
We Defend Your Accounts
Navy Federal will never ask for or discuss specific account information on social media.
